Welcome to our Wedding Site
We hope you can join us in celebrating our lives together. The following information should be of use in planning your trip to Ithaca. If you can come for the long weekend, there's lots to do and see in the Ithaca area, and the foliage should be just about peak. We hope you will enjoy the wedding reception, which we have planned to be fun and relaxed. However, we know that it can be hard to get to Ithaca and we understand that some family and friends who would love to celebrate with us won't be able to make it that weekend. Most of all, we thank you for your friendship and love which help sustain us.
Love, Tamar & Lars

Where is Ithaca, NY?
Ithaca is about halfway between Boston, MA and Ann Arbor, MI!

Transportation
Cornell has a great transportation page Getting to Ithaca. Especially the page Air Travel is useful - it talks about the different airports and car rentals. The closest airport is Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH) which is small, but only 10 minutes away from most hotels. Within 1 ½ hours is the largest airport in the area, Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). Other airport (like Elmira-Corning Regional Airport (ELM) 1 hour, Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) 1 ¼ hours, Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) 2 hours) are pretty small. New York City is 4 ½ hours away and there is a direct bus, named Campus to Campus bus! All airports have car rentals on site.
If you are planning on driving, the Cornell page Driving Directions has some advice, but Google or Mapquest is probably easier to use. Ithaca is surrounded by highways, but the last hour will consist of smaller, winding roads with 45mph or less speed limits and the road signs will not always mention Ithaca. We strongly recommend to have printed directions and a map/GPS.
Free parking is available either in the university parking garage, next to the stadium, or in any parking space that is not designated as a 24 hour reserved space. The parking garage is a 10 minute walk from the Chapel and the reception hall and the distance between the Chapel and the reception is a 10 minute walk. Ithaca Airport Limo will provide a 24 person bus to transport guests between the parking garage, Sage Chapel and the Biotechnology Building. Please give priority to mobility impaired guests. The bus will depart from the parking garage at 12:30pm and make a second trip at approximately 12:45pm. The bus will pick guests up in the Day Hall parking lot, near Sage Chapel, at 1:45pm for transport to the recpetion. We encourage carpooling and, due to the hillly terrain, wearing comfortable shoes. Ladies, high heels at your own risk!
Of course you can always call a cab 607-277-7777 or go on-line Ithaca Dispatch.

Cornell has one of the best hotel schools in the country. Their flag ship is the Statler Hotel - expensive, but great. Another alternative is camping.
